Canaan McCaslin
Canaan McCaslin serves as a Senior Officer on the Gates Foundation’s Global Policy and Advocacy team, where he cultivates relationships and strategic alliances with faith leaders to advance the foundation's global and domestic priorities. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Programming at Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service (GU Politics), where he connected students with the practical aspects of politics.
Canaan's commitment to public service is rooted in his experience with Lutheran Services Florida (LSF), where he served as Associate Vice President of Communications. At LSF, he worked closely with faith leaders and community organizations to provide critical services to underserved communities across the state. He also served as Special Assistant to the County Administrator for Pinellas County Government, where he led intergovernmental relations and workforce development initiatives. Canaan holds a bachelor's degree in international affairs from Georgetown University and a master's degree in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University.
